The château and its garden

The garden and the swimming pool

The pool, completely rebuilt in 2009 is 13m by 5.5 m. It features a telescopic roofing that keeps its warmth and cleanliness when it is windy or raining. It is swimmable from mid-April to mid-October.

Its environment is relaxing: two cypress trees, olive trees, fig trees, pine trees, lawn, flower beds are a beautiful setting in which the sun of Provence sends light rays .

It's easy to find in a large space, place in the sun or in the shade of a tall pine, upon choice. Naps on the comfortable sun beds are delicious (in the sound of crickets...).

Piscine

The park was designed by a landscape architect from Lyon and planted in 1875. The romantic drawn, its pond and curvaceous lines, its collection of ancient exotic trees (sequoias, blue cedar of the atlas, cedar of Himalaya, pine trees, many of Aleppo pines, Scotch pines, bamboos, ...) make it one of the three great 19th century parks in Vaucluse. There is the Pavilion "Paul Manivet", named so because it was originally a property of the poet where it was dismantled to be reassembled stone by stone in the park of Chateau Juvenal in 1973. It houses a kitchen that guests can use in summer.

The massage room of Chateau Juvenal was housed in the former  dovecote of the property. Elongated (e) on the massage table, you can admire the stone walls joined with lime and under-roof dressed in her original "parefeuilles" (ancient tiles). An arch leads to the warm room of the hammam, with its table of scrub, then shower and steam cabin hot ....

A steam bath and a massage will put you in condition to fully enjoy your next trip !

Excursions

From the Roman era in the 21st century, Provence has always been a welcoming land.

With its sweet and caring landscapes, Provence has always been an exceptional terroir for wine, olive oil, but also fruits and vegetables. now days, the beautiful landscapes of Provence remained, because family farms could feed generations of "peasants" who have shaped the nature of the traditional way, respecting their environment, one for hunting, one for the pleasure, or sometimes just by indolence (like the refrain of a Provencal song  "today maybe... or maybe tomorrow")

Provence is also the land of the art of living : a nap, the market, hunting, meals with friends in the moonlight ... and more recently, sunbathing at the pool, evenings at the theater: you have to enjoy Provence slowly in small sips, like a glass of chilled rosé wine under the arbor, the sound of cicadas, which take two months to party. You have to go wandering around in the villages of stone houses clinging to the hill in places steeped in Roman history, medieval, Enlightenment century...

Provencal hills are also a land of sport activities : walking, cycling, riding, swimming, climbing, flying ... everything is possible under the blue sky Provencal. choose rather cool seasons for serious sports like climbing Mount Ventoux cycling or long walks in the hills ...

Château Juvenal is ideally situated for exploring the cultural, flavoring, and beautiful Provence (Avignon-Orange-comtat venaissin-Provence).
